New hermit crab

Well, I got a new hermit crab today. His name is Mr. Lotsolegs. 'Cuz you know, he has a lot of legs. Actually, his full name is Harvey Lotsalegs, but he doesn't like being called by his first name. He's traditional like that.

*coughs*

Anyways, I bought him because my other crab, Darth Crabius, recently lost his friend, Sherman. Since crabs get lonely, I wanted to get him a friend. But...but...

They don't seem to get along too well. They keep pseudo-fighting over one specific corner of their crabitat. They climb over each other, and whap each other's feelers against each other. Darth Crabius is bigger, but he has a smaller claw than Mr. Lotsolegs, so Mr. Lotsolegs seems to win.

This makes me sad. I bought Mr. Lotsolegs so Darth Crabius would be happy. But I think Mr. Lotsolegs is having the opposite effect on Darth Crabius! What makes it worse is, again, they fight over one specific corner. There are four corners! There is enough to go around! But they fight over one.

This upsets me greatly. Mr. Lotsolegs is mean...

Well with my crabs Rupert is boss and they all except that so Rupert picks the corner and the rest huddle around him. Maybe they will get along once they figure who the king crab of the crabatate is.

Also if I give you my tiki hut maybe they wont fight over a spot so much?

also are they both the Ecuadorian crabs?

No, they are not both Ecuadorian crab. One is, the other isn't. >.<" But we bought them at the same place...

That seems mighty strange. I'm surprised that they didn't sell the same thing. The most commonly sold crabs are the Carribian then second most is the Ecuadorian.

Do these crabs hate each other? Is there racism in the hermit crab world?!

I don't know but it seems like maybe it could cause issues. There are other crabs that you can buy but those are the main two. I didn't see anything about them hating each other, but I don't know how many people put them together either.

Well, I had hermit crabs before, and I had one named Confederate. He was Ecuadorian - I know that now. But at the time I didn't, and I put him with my lot of Carribian crabs. *shrugs* He lived a long healthy life with the other crabs. So if it was okay with him...maybe it'll be okay with Mr. Lotsolegs and Darth Crabius once they get used to each other.

Well my crabs take a while to get along. Francesco and Rupert really didn't like each other at first. But now they are always together it seems. (even if Rupert seems to not care whose next to him because he has a huge ego)

Hopefully. I mean, they both have such awesome names. How could they not get along with one another?

Exactly. It's impossible. Darth Crabius and Mr. Lotsolegs are meant to be bffs.

I just hope it's like that time Rupert wanted to get Kirk to come out and play where he pried slightly... granite it didn't work and Kirk just went in more... but still...

I have lots of shells for them, too. They look to be about the right size. Mr. Lotsolegs is just being a big jerk! I should call him Mr. Lotsojerkness, instead.

Well, she bought Mr. Lotsolegs for me. Darth Crabius is hers -- she didn't want her to be alone, but at the same time, she didn't want to own another crab herself. So she forced mt into getting Mr. Lotsolegs.
