But Kirk be a big crab. A really big crab. I wasn't sure if I had room.... And also, Kristen wanted to name the crab. She was pretty insistent about that.

Kirk is one of the smaller crabs actually. he's much smaller than Bobby Francesco and Rupert. But I get the name thing. I wouldnt have been offended if you re named him though. Oh well XD i like Kirk even if he did escape the other night. He was coming down the stairs as i was going up.

Yeah. Which is funny, because most of the time he is the crab that doesnt do anything. He's so meek and still, but he escaped. Funny watching him come down the steps

Then he wouldn't work for me. If I lost a hermit crab, I'd never see him again.  My house is so cluttered. One day I'd be searching under the couch for a lost pen, and then I'd find a dead crab. It would be awful. xD |

I think he just did it because it's been hot. When it's hot they get really energetic. Sides the cover wasnt on very well. so his escape was my fault. But you have a new crab so it doesnt matter.

I do have a new, evil crab who tries to steal the shells of off innocent crabs even though he has a multitude of others to choose from.  Dang you, Mr. Lotsolegs. Dang you. |

He be worse. Sherman never tried to rip Kingler from her shell for no reason. The worst that crab did was push her into the water-hole. Murder...he never did that. He was suspected, but exonerated!

It is. I've heard them do it (usually when they get flipped over onto their backs or something) but I didn't think of it as anything. I Just figured it was their little legs that keep them in or their exoskeleton rubbing up against the shell!
But then I heard a clip someone posted of one of her crabs doing it and it was noisey! Like cicadas in the summer.
