OOC: No double posting, esau! In a moment, I'll have to give you a warning bar! >_<
IC: Isaac's eyes narrowed at the bawling child. For a moment, her felt the embodiment of pity for her. "Calm yourself," he ordered. "You lack faith. Why would the Lord allow for you to - " he broke off at the knocking against the door. "Enter," he called, glancing around the room. Malachai, Ruth, himself, Lucrisha, and another visitor. Things were going to get rather crowded.

OOC: Do you mean when i made that comment about the knocks at the door and the follow up about hoping to be heard?I
IC: Esau, hearing the voice of Isaac calling him, entered the room. Seeing everyone he spoke, "Thank you, Isaac, my humble leader. And how is everyone doing, I trust your days in the universe of lord have been fruitful."

// thanks, esau12! you aren't half-bad yourself.

Ruth whirled when she too heard the thumps on the door, and in her haste the basket slipped from her hands. "No!" she shrieked, watching helplessly as the vegetables, the tomatoes and cucumbers and all the other delicious summer crops meant for Isaac/Malachai/He Who Walks Behind the Rows/Rachel -- SOMEBODY important spilled across the floor. Her tears fell harder. "Don't kill me!" she repeated.

Esau, seeing Ruth in distress, walked over to her. Esau took to looking after Ruth. He knew that it was not her fault that she followed HWWBTR. She was a part of his mission to convert people from the ways of the corn. He started in a hushed comforting tone as he knelt down by Ruth, "Oh Ruthie, hush, child, hush, it's okay, no one wants to hurt you."

Damon raised an eyebrow at Esua. He's been acting strangely, even if Damon didnt know how he was, he knew it wasn't normal. Perhaps if there was something wrong He Who Walks Behind the Rows would tell Isaac? He had faith in Isaac's ability, he also knew Isaac wouldn't hurt Ruth. Damon shrugged off Esau comforting the scared little Ruth. "Eh, he's just helping Isaac." Damon said to himself quietly.

"Esau speaks the truth," Isaac confirmed, though he punctuated his sentence by slyly raising his gaze from the sobbing child and fixing it onto Esau. "For once." He glanced over the treasonous boy's shoulder at Rebekah, who was grinning at his side. He waited for them to state their reason for entering his dwelling.

Ruth's tears stopped. She raised her gaze to Isaac's just slightly-taller-form, and looked at him just as the boy surely willed to be looked at: from below, with awe, like he was a gift from the heavens himself. "Really?" she cried. "Even though I-I spilled the special offerings to...to...you...or maybe Malachai...or Rachel...or...somebody really really important?!" he voice tilted to a squeak at the end of this.

"I'm sorry Isaac, I do not understand. Have I done something wrong?"

Damon cleared his throat trying to get the attention of the preacher boy. "Isaac" he bowed his head slightly.

Isaac held Esau's gaze. "No," he dismissed breezily, though his eyes narrowed, dark lashes casting a shadow over his gray eyes. "The Lord has told me that you have done nothing. I desire to speak with you about it." He allowed his vision to prance across the room, across the forms of Malachai, Damon, Rebekah, Ruth, and Lucrisha. "Later."
The Lord had not spoken to him, regarding Esau. He did not want to appear foolish before the others.
He looked towards Damon, and acknowledged the bow with a small inclination of his own head, giving him permission to speak.

I silence fell over the room. Esau, feeling very akward, felt he had to say something. "Forgive me, Isaac, I feel I have interrupted something. Please continue and forgive me for my rudeness."

"If its any consultation, but I was asked to be a witness." Damon looked at Isaac with slight concern of what he had intended for Esau. "You see, Esau was planning on wedding Rebekah"

Isaac's brow lifted delicately at the news. But that was the only indication of his surprise. He kept his voice controlled as he nodded. "Very well. It shall be a blessing for two believers to join together as one, and bring glory to the Lord through their love for each other and their offerings to him." He paused. "I feel it necessary to ask, however," he began after a moment's hesitation, "are you cetain?"
Rebekah spoke up now, from her position behind Esau. "Of course I am! I love Esau! He is so - "
Isaac silenced her with a stiff glare, before continuing. "Are you certain, Esau? Rebekah?" His tone was noticeably condescending.

Fear of dying apparently forgotten, Ruth clapped her hands with ecstatic joy. "Love! Love! They're in love!" she cheered, stamping her feet. Then she recalled where she was. "I'm going to clean up the mess!" Without further ado she fell down onto all fours and began to gather the stilt vegetables. Hopefully Malachai and Isaac didn't notice her outburst.

"Forgive me if I am mistaken, Isaac, but are you implying that I have bad taste in women? I have always thought this woman to be fair, but now, through today's events I have begun to fall in love with her. I am positive that my love for her will grow as we grow. I only hope I can put up with her various career changes." Esau finished his tiny rant with an air of certainty and happiness.
