Red Bear and the doctor guy find a lot of old, rotten corn, notice that its spoiled and has a bacteria that can make children hallucinate, and claim that there's a lot of money in that. So much money, that the doctor and sheriff dude are willing to kill for it.
I don't understand. How is there money in rotten corn? If there is money in rotten corn, why do people bother selling good corn? Why not wait for it to rot? I thought maybe they were selling the mold as a hallucinogenic drug, but they mention that they are putting it in with the good crops and paying people not to look at it. They are selling it as corn.
Where's the money in bad corn?

I thought it was really special corn. Like, you know. It grew perfectly in bad soil, and it grew fast, and no pesticides were needed. Magic corn.

That was in the third film. In the second one, they just find a pile of rotting corn, claim there's money in it, and call it a day. I don't understand...

ITS ROTTEN CORN! What part of that don't you understand? People will cut themselves just to smell that rotten rotten corn! Furthermore COTC series has NO plots holes whatsoever! Go in a corner and cry yourself to sleep for DARE questioning it!

I-I'm sorry. *hangs head in shame*
Well, in reality, the series isn't as riddled with holes as some. Like, sure, the sixth one is a bastardization of everything good in the world in and of itself, but the first one is pretty solid. And the second one has the rotten corn, and the third one kills off a great deal of people and no one care and---
Never mind.

Maybe Red Bear and the doctor were possessed by the corn demon and so they thought it would be nice to pass that on to the children? I don't think I ever saw COTC 2. Just COTC 1, maybe COTC V, and COTC VII (if that's the one with the woman in the hotel where everyone's turned back to kids), and then the remake. No matter the plot, they always seemed interesting.

Children of the Corn 2 is actually the second best, in my opinion. I recommend you pick it up. (Admittedly, you have to sell an arm, a leg, and a soul to find a copy but...)
