Solomon blinked at Rhett's placid acceptance. He had expected another fight. He sidestepped the teenager warily. "Uh, yes," he stuttered, watching the disappearing back of Rhett. "Thank you. Zipporah." He turned to the girl and gave her a respectful bow.

Zipporah watched the spat between the males through narrowed eyes. Solomon was quick to defend her honor, apparently, and also wasn't pleased with the idea of leaving her alone with Rhett. That wasn't surprising. But what was surprising was Rhett's acceptance of his retreat. she had expected a valiant fight to the end. Frankly, this pleased her more. Rhett had spouted nothing but lies, but they cut into her nonetheless.
"Of course, Solomon," she bowed to him courteously, though she never took her eyes off of the fleeing Rhett. "But I too shall take my leave." She wasn't about to stay in the mucked-up room and risk someone else discovering her. Her 'tantrum' as Rhett dubbed it was probably going to be spread through vicious rumors as it was.

Solomon accepted the gesture with a nod. That was a relief. Whether Rhett left or not, now, Zipporah would take care of herself. With that assurance, he stepped out of the building.
