Dinah made her way to the creek with a wash board clutched under her arm, a nightgown and bar of soap in her hand. Washing clothes wasn't her appointed job, but this gown needed a lot of attention. It was her sister's gown.
Her sister, who was suppose to be asleep in the communal home, had wandered off at night. Whatever it was she was doing her gown looked like it had been dragged through mud. Dinah made sure nobody had seen the gown. It was against the rules to go out at night when you were suppose to be sleeping. Or maybe that was just a special rule made for Lucy (or Mariam). She was a handful, but Dinah was sure she was too afraid to try to leave Gatlin.
Once she got to the edge of the creek she sat everything on the ground. She hiked up the skirt of her dress and kneeled down. Times like these made her wish she still had a pair of jeans.
((ooc: I'm not sure how they washed clothes. Was that ever mentioned in any of the movies? I haven't seen all of them.))

OCC: I never thought about how they washed their clothing. Good question.
IC: Esau had left the school and was now wandering aimlessly. His conscious was buried under the emotions of the day, and his subconscious was left to rule his wanderings. When he was younger, he and his father would take weekly trips down to the creek. It was a source of joy and his subconscious recognized this. He stumbled into the general vicinity of the creek, unaware of who he had stumbled upon. He sat down and cupped his hands. He dipped them into the water and took a drink.

Dinah was startled by the sudden appearance of this person. So much that a gasp escaped her. Being easily embarrassed and scared were Dinah's downfalls.
She glanced at the person only long enough to see them drink from the creek. Then she looked back down focusing on the wash board she was positioning. “I'm about to wash something here so if you plan on drinking more water you should do it somewhere else.” She didn't intend for that to sound mean, it was really just a warning.

OOC: Sorry for taking so long to reply.
IC:
Esau's eyebrows raised to the gasp and warning. His eyes drifted over to the girl. The water in his hands had vanished and he proceeded to get up. His knees were sore from bending over so he stretched. "Hello," Esau said in a voice that did not imply happiness, sadness, anger, or insult. It was an indifferent hello, but a hello none the less.
He walked over to the girl, "Would you like some assistance?"

Dinah tucked the gown under her leg as casually as she could. She looked up giving a toothless fake smile ready to reject the offer. Her expression visibly changed. The smile she had changed or completely disappeared. Her mouth was less curved and almost straight. “I'll manage, but thank you for the offer.”
It was weird that she hadn't recognized Esau's voice, but maybe the reason is because she didn't really talk to people. She did remember faces though. She remembered the name especially. Esau had done something at the wedding which she didn't attend. Everyone had been talking about it and she heard a conversation or two. She hadn't heard enough to know what he'd done, but she knew it was bad enough for him to be sent to Solomon for punishment. That was enough for Dinah to know she didn't want to be associated with him.

The eyes of Esau as he looked into Dinah's slowly moved to the side of her face. They were blank, indicating that behind them many thoughts were buzzing around his head. He sat there for a moment with that expression.
"I'm not a disease, you know. I've just had an...off day. I need to relax, or, better yet, just reflect. So, I hope ya don't mind me sitting with you, listening to the bubbling creek."
