Thoughts on He Who Walks Behind the Rows: He is not God. He definitely exists, no one with any grain of sanity would deny this fact. But he is not the End all Be All. In fact, she believes him to be a corrupter of innocent children, leaning more towards demon than holy deity.

Appearance:
Esther is a girl of medium height and build. She has gentle curves. She has very slim, but it is clear that she has muscles hidden beneath her pale skin. She has small, almond-shaped brown eyes. She has a kind smile, but that is about all that can be said about it. While her face is attractive enough as an oval with rosy cheeks, her teeth are rotted and she has several very visible gaps from where a few have fallen out. Because of this she is reluctant to smile.

Personality:

Esther is, in short, very maternal. She cares deeply for the children around her, and oftentimes frets that they aren't being raised right or are being neglected. But she is by no means a flimsy housewife cookie cutter. Esther is very opinionated, and, aside from the select ones regarding He who Walks Behind the Rows that would get her killed, she speaks them out. She is honest and blunt. She has a no-nonsense attitude and isn't one to joke or play around, often meeting such things with stern reproaches.

But she is loyal to her loved ones - that is, all of Gatlin. Since her family has been killed she has, as was intended, adopted the rambunctious town around her.
