Esau walked into the boys communal home. He was down, he felt bad for how he treated Isaac. He knew that Isaac was wrong, but still, he had allowed him to stay and has not yet told the others his secret. Though his day was short, he was drained. He walked over to his corn-cot, and sat down. He let out a sigh, he was disappointed in himself. He then proceeded to say a little a prayer, and went to sleep.

If Esau would have been awake, he would have noticed how the temperature, usually over heated due to the scorching summer heat, rose to a comfortable, coddling degree.
If Esau had been awake, he would have noticed how the dark hut, lit only by candles, was suddenly as bright as though the sun in the sky had lowered itself from the heavens to pay a visit to the children.
If he had been awake, he would have noticed corn, the lovely and blesses plant on which Gatlin's livelyhood depended, had sprouted across the wooden floorboards.

Esau was in that dazed state of sleep. His thoughts wondering off on subjects unimportant to life. All of a sudden, his peace was shaken, something had pierced that layer of unconsciousness that kept the events of the world from invading his sleep. Someone was calling him. At first he had no idea as to who called the voice, but at that point he did not care. He merely acknowledged that the voice had spoken. As his pierced sleep began to evaporate and he returned to consciousness, the cogs of his mind began to turn. A thought emerged, "What was that." This thought turned into, "It was a voice." This process continued until he knew it was not a voice a he knew.
A shiver ran down Esau's spine and he calmly opened his eyes. "Hello?" He questioned to the empty room as he remained in a horizontal position. He was still.

Esau... The voice, itwas undoubtedly male, soothing and attractive. It whispered through the corn that had burst through the floorboards, and it reverberated off the ceiling. It was one, strong entity in and of itself, yet at the same time seemed to have the combined tones of hundreds, if not thousands of individuals, varying in pitch, accent, and gender. You are happy here, are you not? You can hear me, can you not? Why do you not come to me? Why do you not love me?

Esau's heart rate began to rise. He knew something was wrong. He got up to sit up on his cot, but before he could put his feet on the floor- "What th- Who's there?" Esau, even though he could accurately guessed the answer, wanted to clarify.
OOC: I'm afraid this might give me nightmares, I think I dreamt about this site last night.

OOC: .... That happens. IC:
The voice continued to be as mellifluous as it was before, far too good to be true.
But it was true, and it was in the home, and it was speaking to Esau, with as much patience as before.
It did not answer his question. It spoke as if he had not. Why do you not come to me, Esau? it repeated.

Esau assumed, to not waste the things and his own time, that the voice belonged to He Who Walks Behind the Rows. He did not want this event to be entered into this day, at least not before he got some sleep. He also knew that he existed, he never saw him or spoke to him, though.
After replacing the puzzled look on his face with a stern, calm one, he spoke, "Because you are not the true Almighty. You are merely one of his enemies who will surely fall to him someday."

The voice kept on speaking in its same, warm, coddling tone, though the temperature in the hut dropped signifigantly. The cornstalks began to sway in a relaxing breeze, one that went to brush against Esau's face. I can bless you. The voice promised. I can give you all you have ever wanted. A youth eternal. A beautiful bride. Rebekah.
Rebekah wasn't in the hut. She wasn't there. She was still in Isaac's Dwelling with Damon.
But that did not stop her image from being there. A form exactly as hers, tall, flat, but with flower brunette hair was prancing through the newly-created cornfield. As happy as only Rebekah could manage.
You can have her. She will bear for you blessed children. The voice grew into a tantalizing, almost mocking whisper, and tried to encircle Esau with its mere sound. I will give you more power than you can imagine. Renounce your false faith. I am the true God. I bless my children.

The breeze brushed against Esau's face. He inhaled it's cool and closed his eyes and shivered with ectasy. The voice comforted him, his heart rate lowered, he was swaying in the wind of uncertainty. He enjoyed this, he admits it, but, "N- no, I can't do this." He snapped from his trance. "You are not God, you're teachings are evil, a true and properr God, one worth worshipping, gives His children a chance to choose him, not give them an ultimatum of death or life. That is His blessing. You are no God," Esau spat with that statement, "You are only a servant of evil, demonic scum." As he spoke, Esau turned his head so that his words reach every corner of the room, the demon could give no more excuse of not hearing him.

Is that not what I offer you? The voice pressed. Am I not offering you repentance? Am I not offering you a chance to choose me, to turn away from your False God, to give up your wrong beliefs? It continued to encircle him, the way a wolf would encircle its prey before it lunges for the kill.
The breeze transformed itself to a wind. The corn stalks bowed forward against the rush of air, as though deliberately showing respect to a greater being.
You want to wed Rebekah. Do you deny this? You wish for my Children to grow kinder, more loving and affectionate, a greater testiment onto me. Do you deny this? You can have it, Esau. You can have it all.
Usurp Isaac. I shall speak through you, instead. Lead my children.
Do not dishonor me.

Esau did not consider this for a second. "Did you send your one and only son to Earth to die for us? Did you allow a piece of yourself to be submitted to the sins of this Earth and then deny them? NO, YOU DID NOT!" Esau raised his voice to a yell at that, "So no, I will not be lead astray by one such as you." Esau paused for a moment and then said, "My Lord, thank you for my life, please forgive me for my sins, my Your will be done on Earth as it is done in Your kingdom."

The bright light that had entered the hut flashed red, as though its source was fire. Do not underestimate me, child. I can give, but I can also take away. The voice remained silky-smooth, but also considerably more dangerous. The wind died down, and the fiery light grew dim. I have offered you power that you cannot comprehend.
As quickly as the wind had died, it flew forward now, thrusting and batting against Esau's face as though it were the talons of a cat.
You place your faith in fairy-tales, child. I am the Lord.
And I am not merciful.
I am the Almighty.
And I am not forgiving.
I am God.
I am He Who Walks Behind the Rows.
I am kind to those I love, those who love me. I come to you with the gift of youth eternal, the gift of love, the gift of power.
But I am not merciful.
I can give you more than you have possibly dreamed.
But I am not forgiving.
Do not take my gifts lightly.

Esau's eyes squinted at the heat. He knew the situation was becoming dire, but he kept an air of unnatural calm about him.
"The meak are looked upon with happiness in the eyes of the true Lord, the powerful, the rich, the sinful are looked upon with disgrace (OOC: I'm not sure of the exact quote, forgive me for the inaccuracy, do not quote me on it.). I do not except your gifts, nor do I fear you. You are a deceiver, one of many, nothing special about you. With the Lord, I am strong, and I've nothing to fear. For in the end, He is there, not you."

You place your faith in a fairy tale. You place your faith in what you find satisfying, not what is true.
I look upon the meek with disgust. And I am the true God.
I grant power to the powerful. I am the true Lord.
The sinful are not looked upon at all. They are cast out. For I am the Almighty.
With that, the corn stalks curled up into each other, retreating beneath the floorboards exactly as they came. The temperature rose to its former, putrid-scorched heat. The light darkened as before.
But there was something different.
There was a corn crucifix on the ground. It was crudely made, as though created by a child.
But it's facial structure was undeniable.
Esau.

OOC: I quite enjoyed that.
IC: Esau stood up and looked around. Left, right, up, d-, there was something on the floor. "What in the world," Esau stepped forward and picked up the crucifix that lay there. He examined it closely. He began to think franticly, "The face, th-the face. No, it can't be." Esau was afraid, he knew it, he did not deny it. No matter how strong one's faith is, they still experience rash emotion. Esau then began to scream to the empty room, "YOU ARE WRONG DEMON, I SAY THAT IN JESUS'S NAME YOU ARE WRONG. IT IS YOU WHO WILL SUFFER, YOU ARE THE SINNER. YOU ARE NO GOD, YOU ARE NO GOD!" Esau stopped, he breathed, and then he walked out of the communal home. He began to make his way to Isaac's dwelling.
OOC: I'm leaving this thread.
