Isaac's frantic gaze fell onto Damon. Invigorated by the presence of a loyal follower, he seized the opportunity. "You degrade me, Malachai," he growled, dusting his jacket where Malachai had worried it. "An insult to me is an insult to Him!" Though already, Isaac's anger was evaporating. Lucrisha, a blessed and godly woman, had come to his aid. Malachai's knife was clearly in view, and, Giver of His Word or no, Isaac knew that his flesh would cut as easily as any outlander's.
Malachai would certainly know this too.
With Lucrisha wedded to Malachai, the girl may very well lead him to follow the laws of He Who Walks Behind the Rows more closely. The Lord had not wanted to compete with Lucrisha, but was it possible that she neither wanted to compete with him? That she would willingly step to the side, and go as far as to lead Malachai closer to God so that he may be a better servant to him?
Furthermore, Damon lay several yards away and had not come to Isaac's side. The boy preacher was struck with the sudden and harsh revelation that between Sarah, Job, Malachai, and Esau, his grip on the fold was slipping, and soon the entire following would die out. Unless he could sooth Malachai, and ascertain that he would never again be placed in such a precarious position.
First thing was first.
"You are wise, Lucrisha," Isaac noted in a speaking tone, though it was clear a strain of panic weighed it down. "The Lord smiles upon you. In exchange for your display of virtue, you may choose any husband you wish."
OOC: >_< I'm having a lot of trouble tonight.

Lucrisha stood beside Malachai as he tightend his grip on her hand, she looked down at Isaac and nodded; "thank you Isaac" she then looked at Malachai and smiled softly, he didnt need her to ask, for the first time in what seemed like many years, he smiled softly too as he held both her hands and kissed the top of her head

Isaac was eager to leave. Eager to leave the clearing and put himself away somewhere private to commune with his Lord. Much had happened on that day already, and he could almost feel the tranquillity and safety Gatlin had enjoyed for the past three years slip through his fingers. Malachai was calmed by Lucrisha -- for now -- but for how long would this last? Esau was ostracized and at least pretending fealty -- for now. It was all only for now, and it would take but another unsheathed sword to crumble all Isaac had done for the Lord.
To serve him, he would need guidance.
So he said the same words he had just minutes before spoke to Damon and Rebekah (it had merely been minutes ago. Why had Damon returned) though he said them in a much quicker pace to end it all quickly.
" "When we had first purged the unbelievers and hethens, three harvests ago, the Lord did come to me, me his servant and representative of his greatness his children, and spoke to me of his plan regarding his children. They are meant to look upon two beings with absolute love and affection. The first is He himself, the creator of all, he who sustains us even in the chill of winter, and blesses us in the heat of Summer. He Who Walks Behind the Rows.
"The second, the Other Beloved, is the spouse. The Lord wills us to look upon our other half, or blessed half, and see his blessing. To look upon his creation, as an extension of our very beings, and be awed.
"Lucrisha, are you ready to enter into this union with Malachai?"

As Isaac began yet another ceremony Damon came and sat down to watch. It wasn't long ago he did that... actually it was only a few minutes. "I wonder what Rebekah is doing...?" He thought to himself. He smiled, someone that actually calmed Malachai. The only person that was having a totally awful day was the one person, in Damon's eyes, that deserved a break. And that was Isaac. Yet another union.

Lucrisha nodded to Isaac; "yes Isaac" she smiled at Malachai as they followed Isaac into the clearing, she wore a long princess type white gown, she was bare foot, she faced Malachai smiling softly at him, (for once he didnt have his hunting knife on him)

OOC: We were in the clearing this whole time. IC: Isaac nodded curtly at the blushing bride in acknowledgment to her answer. Then he turned to Malachai. His former right-hand had already proven himself untrustworthy. The only reason you are not upon the cross beside the Blue Man is because of your bride's virtue. You have fallen from favor with me, and in turn, shall fall in favor with the Lord. Isaac kept this thought to himself, but he could not keep his eyes from displaying the arctic hatred he felt for the older boy, and likewise, he could not keep the venom from his voice even as he performed the holy ceremony. "And are you, Malachai, ready to enter into this union with Lucrisha?"

Malachai nodded "yes" he looked at Lucrisha then looked at Isaac, though he couldn't read Isaac's thoughts he knew that he was angry at him because of his actions, he didn't want Lucrisha to get hurt, he looked at Isaac sharply, but didn't say anything, as he wanted this to be the most special moment in his life

Damon watched the new couple and they seemed so happy, even strangely enough, Malachai. I should be back making Rebekah happy like that. He shook his head and pushed up off the ground and when to go back to his wife.

OOC: Rebekah is gonna be P.O'ed, Sly.
IC:
Isaac did not acknowledge Malachai's response as he did Lucrisha. The only indication that he had even heard it was that he went on with the holy ceremony - feeling the Lord's presence with him as he spoke the holy words, and feeling a greater sadistic delight in the end of the ceremony than what was becoming of a boy preacher. "The sewar of seeds must be a child so that what is planted without corruption untainted with the poison of age. Let Lucrisha..." he nodded at the bride, "and Malachai be joined forever. As one. As they are one. Lift up your hands," he ordered them both, once more holding the knife, still but dripping with the blood of Rebekah and Damon, outward.

They obeyed Isaac and did as he commanded lifting their hands and watched Isaac hold the bloody knife, they both winced a bit as the knife cut into their skin, as soon as their blood had hit the soil, it symbolized their marriage, they were together, just like in Malachai's vision

Isaac, he slit the palm of Lucrisha as delicately as he had Rebekah's or Damon's. Deep enough to draw blood, to wash into the earth and then into Malachai, but not so far as to cause any more discomfort than necessary. It would heal.
Malachai, however, was another story. Malachai's palm was out and waiting to be cut, and Isaac was not going to allow a golden opportunity to slip so easily. He moved to dig the knife far beneath the flesh, in such a way that he prayed to He Who Walks Behind the Rows that it would maybe incapacitate him, making the red head far less of a threat.

Malachai saw what Isaac was about to do, the blade just touched his skin as he grabbed the knife from Isaac, he held the knife to Isaac's throat ready to slash it;
"MALACHAI DONT!!! You're risking your own life if you hurt him" Lucrisha tried calming her husband down, but Malachai hadn't listened to her, he'd slashed the shoulder part of her dress, where blood poured down her shoulder, she screamed in pain as the blade had gone deep into her skin, once Malachai had realized what he'd done he immediately dropped the blade and came to her aid, however she stepped away from him.

Isaac's gaze followed the knife even, resting on its silver rusted steel even as Malachai and Lucrisha scuffled. When the boy preacher recovered from the initial shock such as forgetting to breath and other such things the body does away with when it's ready to shut down, he grew enraged.
"You dare interrupt the ceremony?" He challenged, his voice horrible and screeching with fury. "The blood of the bride and her Other Beloved must be shared! You know this Malachai!" He swept on, his voice growing to a thunder. "You have tarnished a ceremony conducted before He Who Walks Behind the Rows! And -- " He broke off here, noting the blood pouring from Lucrisha.
His lips twisted into a smirk. "And the Lord has punished you," he finished.

Malachai nodded; "well if it's in His will to spill my blood then let him, however, you will not harm Lucrisha, take my life and mine only" Lucrisha looked at Malachai, then shook her head; "Malachai no.." tears stung her eyes as he said all this; "it's in his will-" "well if it is in His will then I wish there were no God at all" she knew that she'd said too much at this point, she looked at Malachai as tears streamed down her face, Malachai placed a hand on her cheek; "Do not blasphemy him, its in God's will and I will do it, you will not risk your life" Lucrisha smacked his hand away and ran off out of the clearing she ran into the barn, trying to think of a way to escape Gatlin

Isaac watched as the bleeding bride fled from the clearing. Her sudden betrayal had not been foreseen.
"It seems...I had made a misjudgment," Isaac said reluctantly, bending to pick up the blooded knife. At this point, however, his pride had to be shelved. Malachai had a lion's share of strength, and it would be in Isaac's best interest to placate him. "I had believed that the Lord was concerned with your affection for her, that you would place her above him." He paused, and looked at Malachai with nothing but pity. "It appears I was mistaken."
At this point, the boy preacher hesitated. If Lucrisha had been any other girl: from the loudmouthed Rebekah to the sly Zipporah to the wise Rachel, he would have ordered her death. To wish that his Holiness had never come to blessed them? To wish that he had never even created them, the children, the innocent and pure, so close to his heart?
If Lucrisha had been anyone else, she would be struck down. But she wasn't anyone else, and Isaac needed Malachai to be content until he could find another enforcer, another strong arm. One without such weak faith.
"I will send a Healer to her," he promised. "She will be well taken care of. It is well that she has left the cornfield," he added. "What she said was foolish, and fools do not belong in the corn. May the Lord forgive her. I will wait for his guidance." He said this with a touch of optimism, hoping that Malachai would notice that Isaac was allowing her a chance that normally wasn't granted.
He would wait for the Lord to speak to him about her demise. Until then, she would be protected.
"But," Isaac went on, "if the Lord casts his judgment upon her - and you as well," he added, not allowing Malachai to forget that it was his sin that had caused Lucrisha's injuries, his sin which had made her shriek the blasphemy, "then she will be punished justly."
