"The motel..." Rebekah agreed, albeit reluctantly. The thought of consummation was not a pleasant one. She knew the Lord wanted them to be as one, but did it have to be so literal? And if it did have to be literal, why didn't he just merge them into one person? Permanately? Then she could be mutant-Damon-Rebekah, and they could terrorize everyone all o'er the land.
She blinked. In her mind, she had just answered her own question. Terrorizing everyone for sick kicks was not something the He Who Walks Behind the Rows were encourage.
"Consummation..." she repeated, naming the only alternative.
A big smile stretched across her face, ear to ear. A new goal came to mind. She looked slyly over her shoulder at Damon. "I'm going to be the best consummator in Gatlin," she vowed.

"So long as you don't go consummating with others." He got a stern look on his face. "What's the point of becoming one? I can't have as much fun talking to myself as I would to you..." Damon looked up at the sky thinking about it. He slowly wandered to the motel.

"I don't think you can consummate a marriage with anyone else, 'cuz you can only get married to one person," she pointed out. Her eyes strayed downward. "Huh. I'm a wife now. I got a husband. I didn't even have a suitor this morning, and now I have a husband." She grabbed for his hand and moved to press herself affectionately beside him. "And I do have the best husband in Gatlin." She followed him to the motel.
OOC: Rebekah left the thread. >.> I figure Damon did too. Isaac is implied gone.

Malachai sat up the front with Lucrisha, lightly touching her hand, though he hardly showed any of his feelings and rarely smiled, he was in love with her, he wanted to marry her, since the day he met her he knew she belonged with him, after the wedding, Malachai walked over to Isaac, looking quite embarrassed with what he was going to ask; "Isaac, may I have a word?"

Isaac looked away from Esau's retreating form (evil's retreating form. Sin and heresy personified, should be disposed of should be --- ) and found his enforcer approaching him. He started, taking note of the warm contact between Malachai and Lucrisha. He calmly looked between the pair before giving the red-head a curt nod, permiting him to speak.

Malachai was embarrassed about his next sentence, he sat down, looking at his feet, then looked up at Isaac; "with the lords approval and yours, I would like to marry Lucrisha" he tried speaking as softly as he could

Isaac's brow furrowed, but that was the only outer indication of his inward surprise. He was silent for a moment, regarding Lucrisha carefully. She was fertile and strong, and it was true that Malachai would need a woman soon. In a mere two years time he would be entering the field to meet with He Who Walks Behind the Rows, and it would be a shame for such a fine follower of the Lord to not leave a trail of healthy descendants.
Though Malachai was not choosing Lucrisha merely for her health and fertility. Isaac did not need to Lord's guidance to tell him that Malachai's protective grip on her wasn't one of necessity. "That's peculiar," Isaac noted. "I always thought of you as a strong arm without weakness, Malachai."

He nodded; "yes, but since she came to Gatlin, I visioned her with me, she does not belong to any other man here, and I would kill anyone who tried taking her from me" he knew that Isaac was surprised by his sudden soft side, Malachai himself knew that Lucrisha was as strong as he was, however, though he knew Lucrisha and himself were destined to be together, he couldn't bare the thought of leaving her when he met with He Who Walks Behind The Rows.

OOC: it's fine. My grip on Isaac's manner of speech has slipped several times as well.
IC:
Isaac's eyes narrowed at this. His temper already enflamed by the blasphemous Esau, he needed little provocation to snap. And snap he did. "Kill anyone?" he echoed. "Even those acting under the Lord's will? Speak carefully," he advised. "Does your love for Lucrisha rival that of your love for the Lord? If you were ordered to strike Lucrisha down by He Who Walks Behind the Rows himself..." he had had his hands, one of them still holding the blooded dagger from the previous wedding ceremony, behind his back, but here he placed them in front again, so that the weapon was clearly visible to both Malachai and his intended.
The blood was still dripping.
"...would you?"

Malachai's eyes widened, he loved Lucrisha too much and wouldn't hurt her, even if he wanted to he couldn't, but if it was in His will and if He Who Walks Behind The Rows ordered him too do it, surely he'd have to, but he could control himself, he looked down at the dagger Isaac held in front of him, he pushed it back; "if it was in the Lords will...." he couldn't bring himself to finish his sentence, knowing his live would be limited if he were to speak against the Lord OOC I like it

Isaac held Malachai gaze for a moment. He broke it, and glanced again at the dent in the corn where the disgraced Esau had fled. "There is much turmoil within this Holy Land," he noted absently. He turned back to Malachai. "The Lord has seen it fit to test us with the presence of a heathen. Esau was judged as he passed through the cornfield," he said before Malachai would withdraw his saber. "If He Who Walks Behind the Rows did not see it fit to take his life, than it is certainly not within our right."
As though the two subjects were inexplicably entwined Isaac went on without missing a beat. "Tests are abound. Temptation walks in all shapes," he glanced at Lucrisha, his snub nose wrinkling in distaste as though she were not a loyal follower of their God and instead a Jezebel. "To shake us from our beliefs, to test where our loyalties lay. You have an important place with us, Malachai. Your strong arm has offered us peace and protection for the past three harvests. You cannot have any doubt for where your loyalties lie, or all will be lost. He Who Walks Behind the Rows must be your only master. He does not have any interest to compete with the likes of Lucrisha."

Malachai was furious as he bent down and grabbed the collar of Isaac's jacket; "I'm tired of all your talk Isaac, Lucrisha's life means just as much as He maybe you should step aside as the others are sick of your talk just as much as I-" Lucrisha stood as she knew that speaking against Isaac and HWWBTR was not in the law; "Malachai, if it's in His will for me to be gone, then I will sacrifice myself tonight" his eyes widened as he ran over to and took her hand

Malachai had grabbed the cut of Isaac's jacket, and the younger boy was easy lurched forward. Before the boy preacher had even a chance to act any of the wide range of emotions that spewed within him the second Malachai's fingers grabbed the black cloth -- betrayal, anger, indignation, a raw, hot-blooded fury that would demand his blood in place of Esau's -- Lucrisha stepped forward and offered herself to He Who Walks Behind the Rows.
Isaac was neatly dropped back to the ground when Malachai grabbed for Lucrisha's hand. After landing ungracefully and squarely on his ass, the boy had time to look towards Malachai's intended. "You try to martyr yourself?" he challenged, scrambling back to his feet. "You sit and allow the Word and the Giver of his Laws to be disgraced in His holy place, and you claim to be -- " he broke off here, suddenly painfully aware the Malachai and Lucrisha were but the only people left in the clearing, and, despite all the indignities, it would be wise (and he was wise. He had communed with the Almighty and spoke his words, he was wise and he was righteous and he knew it no matter what blasphemies spewed from Esau's mouth, no matter what dagger Malachai unsheathed) to bide his time. He sewed his lips shut.

Damon walked back into the clearing to find a peace that only the holy corn could bring to him, but when he saw Malachai he stopped in his tracks. The red-headed boy frightened Damon to no end. He always had a dagger in his hand it seemed. He wasn't sure if he should walk any closer or stay in the shelter the corn offered. He didn't want to go back to Rebekah, because she had embarrassed him. But at the same time it seemed better than interfering with the dispute. But Malachi was terrorizing Isaac, and that didn't sit very well with him, but still he remained quiet. So indecisive.

Lucrisha lead Malachai back outside, Malachai glared at Damon, giving him a sour look, he didn't like Damon (or anyone else for that matter) as they'd gone back outside, Lucrisha remained silent thinking about what she'd said, she had said it to stop Malachai from risking himself getting killed, but now she thought that she'd put herself in danger
