Deborah nodded solemnly. "The time for pudding has come upon!" She giggled as she finished her best Issac impression. "Yeah let's fill a big bucket with dirts from the cornfield! Then we'll need water...and um...SUGAR! And we'll bake it. Yeah!" Deborah wasn't sure if that's how one made pudding seeing as she was never allowed to see any cooking task to it's completion. But she was sure being a big kid Ruth would correct her if there was any boo boo's in the plan.

Ruth wasn't entirely sure if that was how you made pudding, but she wasn't about to question the wisdom of one who had figured out that if they just ate dirt they could just cut out the middle man. "All right!" she agreed, crawling under one of the beds and retrieving one of the buckets some of the girls used for bladder emergencies. "Let's go fill this up with dirt to eat!"

"Oh that's perfect!" Deborah clapped her hands with glee. It was a good thing that she was being helped by such a great big kid! She'd never think of using one of the potty buckets to colelct dirt. The thought wouldn't have occurred to her. "Rights! Lead the way to the cornfield!...cause I sometimes get lost..."

Ruth looked down with pity at Deborah. "Wow, that's too bad!" She blinked, shocked. How could one live in Gatlin and not be able to find the cornfield? But she reasoned that Deborah was young, and probably just not used to going around all by herself. "Don't feel bad. You're small. Also, Jacob has this problem where he gots lost in the cornfield. That's why he wears a bell, so people can hear it and find him before he gets lost!" She giggled at the thought, but then put on an expression of total seriousness. "We better hurry. Night might come. And night is his time! And we might not have enough food for him too!" She hoped Deborah would figure out who 'he' was, as in 'he who walks behind the rows'. But not waiting for confirmation, she turned and led the way to the cornfield. ooc: childrenothecorn.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cornfield&thread=316^ I made new thread ^
