The town was bustling. The thieves had arrived right before dinner time, which meant people were driving home, which meant rush hour. "Darn, how are we gonna manage to nab a child in this mess of sin."

"Easy, people don't pay attention to their kids--ever! We just sneak in and take one, no one will notice." Damon put his hands on his hips and stared around. "Question is where do we start?"

Rebekah cradled her chin in her hand, leaning against a garbage can and watching the bustle with an unrestrained awe. It had been years since she had seen so many people in one place, for one thing. For another, it had also been years since she had seen girls in such skimpy attire. Their breasts were practically hanging out of their clothes, their legs were long and graceful - and fully visible.
She had forgotten during her stay, her sanctuary in Gatlin.
"Well..." she began trying to keep her head, "we need to find a kid, first."

"Do we follow someone with a kid and then snatch it when they aren't looking? or do we just hope we find one in a random house?" Slightly disgusted, he looked around at all the townspeople running around in their lazy, sinful lives. "We would be doing quite the favor."

"I think we should follow someone, then when they are not looking we take the kid." Esau said this with enthusiasm, but he died a little inside. The thought of doing this was awful, but the fact he was helping made it all the worse. He could only hope to help steer this child right, maybe even send him home someday.
But then it hit him, the perfect way to deter this. "Wait, I just thought of something. What if doing that has some really bad repurcussions. Like, what if the police come to Gatlin looking for the kid. Our peace will be disturbed, He Who Walks Behind The Rows would not be pleased." Esau looked deeply into the eyes of his team, hoping for some response that wasn't insane, but still preparing for otherwise.

Rebekah tossed Esau a look that was anything but complimentary. "If He Who Walks Behind the Rows did not want us to take a child," she growled, "than he would have stopped us himself. Since he did not, he wants us to take a child. Maybe he wishes to test our warriors?" She shrugged, the matter being of little concern to her. "I think we should follow a couple home, break into their house tonight, grab the kid, and go."

"We should wait till they have gone to bed for the night. It will make things easier and less likely we get caught, like Esau is concerned for." Damon looked around for the perfect fit. "See a child that catches your eye Rebekah?"

"Yeah, Rebekah, do you fancy any of these youngsters," He said this innapropriately enthusiastic.

"Well..." Rebekah bit her lower lip, and built up the courage to take a good look at the wallowing sinners. She couldn't pick out a single individual. They just meshed together in a haze of sin and evil and fornication (okay, the last one wasn't present, but from the way the other girls were dressed she would've thought it would happen when she looked away).
"I can't see anyone," she pouted.

"hmm... If we don't find one tonight, we're going to have to make on ourselves." Damon twitched and squirmed uncomfortably. "Although, it looks like the Hemingford girls are most of the way there." He looked away. Nope Rebekah, although less reveling, was much more appealing, and that still didn't make him want to consummate.

Rebekah finally decided to go with the surefire way to do things.
It would be a flawless decision.
She closed her eyes. Spun around three times.
She pointed her finger outward, and opened them. Her finger was pointing straight towards -- not a baby, no -- but a four year old boy. He was sucking his thumb, and pulling the hem of his mother's modest-but-not-modest-enough dress, trying to gain her attention for something.
"Him!" Rebekah purred. "Him, I want him, let's get him."

Esau's heart tore. Oh no, he thought. This isn't good, he could not allow this to happen. He stepped right in front of Rebekah. "No, not him. He is too old. He will cry as we take him away. We can console a baby, but the boy will not understand what is happening."

"The problem with a child that old is he wouldn't realize were helping him. Whereas a baby wouldnt know that we were taking him at all. Right Esau?" He looked Esau in the eyes.

"And what would you know, Esau?" Rebekah challenged, a bit too loudly. Instantly, her loud voice attracted the attention of the Outlanders, and nearly every pair of eyes turned towards her. And then, noticing her modest attire as well as the fact that she was unfamiliar to Hemingford -- Hemingford, like Gatlin, was a very small town of only a few hundred people -- they stayed there. Including the eyes of future-Noah and his mother.
"Awe..." Rebekah shifted awkwardly from foot to foot. She turned to Esau, her eyes wild. "Now what do we do?"
